FFT-2 Fretting Tester

The FFT-2 is a fretting tester developed by Rtec Instruments, designed to evaluate the fretting behavior of materials under controlled conditions. Fretting refers to small amplitude oscillatory motion between two contacting surfaces, which can lead to wear and material degradation. The FFT-2 simulates these conditions to assess the durability and performance of materials, coatings, and lubricants subjected to fretting. It features precise stroke control from 10 microns to 2.8 mm, allowing for accurate simulation of fretting conditions, and operates at frequencies up to 300 Hz, enabling the simulation of real-world fretting scenarios. The instrument supports testing across a broad temperature range, from -35 to 800°C, and accommodates a wide array of material testing requirements with load capacities up to 5000 N. The system provides real-time monitoring of friction and wear parameters, delivering valuable insights into material performance during fretting.
