FFT-M (High Frequency Reciprocating Rig)

FFT-M is a High-Frequency Reciprocating Rig (HFRR) tester developed by Rtec Instruments, designed to evaluate the lubricity of fuels, particularly diesel. It simulates engine conditions to assess the friction and wear properties of fuels and additives, ensuring compliance with industry standards and optimizing fuel performance. Key features include real-time force control for precise adjustment of the applied force, a wide stroke and frequency range (10 µm to 2.8 mm strokes and frequencies from 1 to 200 Hz), high-fidelity friction measurement using piezoelectric load sensors, temperature control supporting up to 180°C with options for extended temperature ranges up to 400°C, and a load capacity of up to 350 N. The FFT-M is used for evaluating diesel fuel lubricity, predicting the performance of fuel additives, and studying friction and wear characteristics under simulated engine conditions.
