SYMPOSIUM | Scanning Probe Microscopy Forum 2025

Groot-Ammers | March 6th, 2025

The 26th edition of the Scanning Probe Microscopy Forum returns to Belgium! – After two first editions in 2002 and 2013, it is with a great pleasure that the Walloon users of local probe microscopies (UCLouvain, UMONS, UNamur and ULiège) in collaboration with NanoWal, the Walloon nanotechnology network, will welcome you this year.

DATE & TIME
📆  Monday, March 31st – Friday, April 4th, 2025
📍   Radisson Blu Balmoral Hotel, Avenue Léopold II, 40 – 4900 Spa, Belgium

Since its first edition in 1998 in Sangatte, the Forum has aimed to bring together annually users from all backgrounds (biologists, chemists, physicists, engineers, …) of local probe microscopies and to be a place of exchange between experts and novices with a strong participation of doctoral students.

The topics cover both fundamental studies in nanosciences and applications and instrumentation around local probe microscopies. The interest of this forum has only grown over the years because these microscopies are one of the major tools of nanotechnologies. This forum is an excellent opportunity for doctoral students to present the results of their research work, in an open and friendly discussion framework. Companies that brings products to the market in the field of local probe microscopies will be invited, as every year, to come and present their new products and to interact with users. Courses will also be offered on advanced applications of STM and AFM.
